Step by Step: How to Make Honeycomb Balls!

Supplies: scissors, glue, either tissue or construction paper (your preference)

Step 1: Cut 12 to 15 5" circles out of the paper material that you have chosen, then fold each piece in half twice so the circles each have four quadrants and "X" shaped fold lines in the middle.

Step 2: Apply a line of glue on one of the creases in each circle and fold in half so that the half circle is now glued shut only in the very center with open space on either side of the crease.

Step 3: Each half circle should still have another crease down the middle from the "X" fold in step 1, which leaves each half circle with two quadrants. Choosing the same quadrant on each circle, apply glue to all circles and begin to stack them so that the edges all line up and all of the quadrants with glue are stacked on top of each other.

Step 4: One all of the pieces are stacked, glued, and dried, begin to open the unglued sides and connect the top piece to the bottom piece forming a sphere. Place glue on the two quadrants that will connect to create the sphere and hold until glue has dried.

Step 5: If desired, create a hole on the top of the sphere and run a string through it to hang your honeycomb ball from the ceiling.
